It is a truth universally acknowledged, that an IT professional working in support of any system of interconnected technologies will, by necessity, often be faced with a choice between an expensive new implementation, disappointing their customers, or finding a way to work within the existing systems. As IT professionals we realize that change and improvement take time and that new solutions often exist within our existing technology stack. Tasked with the challenge of exploring options for an LMS/SIS for human resources in response to forecasted requests from the system office the LMS team at WCU worked through a solution that combined several existing processes – 25LIVE, Blackboard, Banner to make a “zero-cost” solution that not only met the needs of HR but exceeded them.

The target audience for this session is IT professionals and LMS managers. Participants will leave the session having created a map of their integrated systems and gaps and with two case studies for efficient use of existing resources.
